Who Am I?
About Me.
Pregnant People deserve and need inclusive, compassionate, and evidenced based support, care, and advocacy. This is an affirmation I center in my reproductive care work. I am a Full Spectrum Doula, Certified Childbirth Educator, and a Certified Lactation Support Counselor serving all pregnant people in their Reproductive & Bodyfeeding journey. I believe in a practice that serves all gender identities as well as utilizing gender inclusive language & practices for all clients, while centering the framework of Reproductive and Birth Justice. I am a Queer, Intersex, NonBinary Person of Color so it is very important for me to reflect who I am into my practice to be inclusive and welcoming to all folks who are on the Gender Expansive Spectrum to have access to a reproductive care worker who will advocate and offer support centered in their identities. I provide advocacy, support, and care for ALL pregnant people to better navigate and make evidence based decisions regarding their reproductive journey. I serve diverse families who are polyamorous, with disabilities, and inclusive of people of all different bodies. I am a New Yorker living on Occupied Lenapehoking Land, born and raised in Washington Heights, and currently living in Harlem. I am Puertorriqueñx and Dominicanx. I speak fluent Spanish. I am aspiring to become a Certified Professional Midwife in the near future.
I am a Reproductive, Birth, & Social Justice Nerd! My business is named after my name and my first birth. My name translates to Moonlight in Portuguese and the baby I doula for my first birth is named after a moon of Jupiter. I was first trained by and volunteered with The Doula Project as a Full Spectrum Doula. I trained and certified as a Birth/Postpartum Doula with DTI (Doula Training International) as a recipient of their Trans Health Scholarship. Along with DTI, I became a Certified Childbirth Educator and a Certified Full Spectrum Doula. I am a Certified Lactation Support Counselor by IBCLC Lea Rivera with Birth Day Presence‘s Community Spot Scholarship. I am currently a Professional Member of Evidence Based Birth as a recipient of their Birth Worker of Color Scholarship. I recently finished my certification in ‘Advanced Full Spectrum Doula’ training with Cornerstone Doula Trainings and acquired ‘CFSD’ credentials. Deeply rooted in working with herbs, both culturally and ancestrally, I recently began my formal studies in herbalism and just finished an Introductory Herbalist Certificate course with Herbal Academy. Lastly, I certified with Old School Bruja as a Diaspora Death Doula. I am certified in Adult/Children/Infant CPR & AED with Common Sense CPR (American Safety & Health Institute). My work is centered in the framework of Reproductive, Birth, & Healing Justice as well as creating/educating/facilitating educational content and resources on White Supremacy, Anti-Blackness, and Racism as well as Gender Expansive Identities. My aspirations is to create a (Trans)ition Support Doula curriculum, program, and training body for Doulas & Birthworkers in offering support and care for Gender Expansive People who are navigating gender affirming transitions, both medical and non-medical.
